NABS believes that it is important to study the history behind a topic to understand the theories that are utilized today. We have been accused by some of utilizing a law enforcement forensic artist to draw "human looking" bigfoot figures. This page will take a walk back into history throughout North America and review what witnesses have stated they've seen, long before NABS was on the scene and in the time frames of when many of the original researchers started their investigations. You determine why NABS has released sketches that show human characteristics...
Article 1- March 1967, British Columbia, "Its Face Had a Wizened Look." Column 3, paragraph 2, "It's face was that of a wizened old man."
Article 2- July 27, 1966, Richmond, British Columbia, "It was Hairy Sasquatchwise." Column two, paragraph 3, "It wasn't apelike." "It was like a big hairy man about six feet eight to seven feet tall."
Article 3- 1971, Manitoba,
The RCMP Will Think We Are Nuts", Column Two, Paragraph 3, "It was covered with hair darker then a deer and there was a flat-profiled face. Looking at us was this thing that had the appearance of man, although it was three times the size of the average man."
Article 4, 6/23/74, Harrison Lake, "Face to Face with Sasquatch", Column one, paragraph one, "An eight foot sasquatch with human characteristics has been seen by a camp director and a number of campers near the head of Harrison Lake." Column 3, paragraph 7, "Jones said it looked more like a human than a beast."

Article 7- March 1, 1993- Kotzebue, Alaska, Column 1, paragraph 6, "I stopped and looked up. Fifteen feet away, one hand on his hip, the other gripping a branch of hemlock that was just above my head was the biggest, hairiest guy on two legs I ever want to see." Column two, paragraph 1, "He had intelligence." paragraph 2, "I knew I could place a killing shot but I also knew it would be wrong, even criminal."
Article 8- 1977- Coffeyville, KS, Column 1, Paragraph 7 "Parret described the "thing" as about seven feet tall covered with hair and with human features."
Article 9- 8/15/78, Oceana, West Virginia, Police Officer observes and describes bigfoot, "Column 2 paragraph two, "It looked like a man.", paragraph 5, "It looked like a huge man."
Article 10- 6/18/73- Eugene, OR, (Linion Lake), Paragraph 5, "The animal's face, hands and feet were very dark brown in color and resembled those of a human beings."
Article 11- 1/3/74- Beaverton, OR, (Mount Whitechuck), Paragraph 3, "It was a formidable black figure, almost human-like, with long hairy arms and legs and huge shoulders."
Article 12- 4/8/79- Yakutsk, USSR, Column 3, Paragraph 3, "Wild Man was once a member of the Chukchi Tribe." This is another tribe in another region of the world calling their bigfoot/sasquatch biped a tribal member.
